Careers are on the line this Saturday in Manchester as Anthony Crolla takes on Scottish fighter, Ricky Burns.
The Manchester Arena plays host to the British blockbuster with neither man able to afford another costly loss. Burns and Crolla are recently stripped world champions with a point to prove and will be desperate to get back in the win column. So sit back and enjoy the preview as we break down what could be a cracking fight between two warriors. FORM… Burns’ last five fights LOSS vs Julius Indongo – UD WIN vs Kiryl Relikh – UD WIN vs Michele di Rocco – TKO (R8) WIN vs Josh King – KO (R8) WIN vs Prince Ofotsu (R5/8) Crolla’s last five fights LOSS vs Jorge Linares – UD LOSS vs Jorge Linares – UD WIN vs Ismael Barroso – KO (R7) WIN vs Darleys Perez – KO (R5) DRAW vs Darleys Perez – MD
Crolla has the edge going into the fight despite having suffered back-to-back defeats to Jorge Linares. The sheer quality of opposition should stand him in good stead against Burns, who was blown away by Julius Indongo in April. Crolla should be fresher too having last fought in March while Burns has to cut down to 135-pounds again at the age of 34.
Sky Sports Action (UK), 2:00 pm ET, Anthony Crolla vs Ricky Burns, Sam Eggington vs Mohamed Mimoune, Robbie Barrett vs Lewis Ditson. Crolla-Burns is a must-win for both fighters.
